Reformer Pilates

Build strength, control, and precision in your movement.

Reformer Pilates with an Integrated Whole-Body Approach

Reformer Pilates at SF Studios is a personalised, strength-led approach that helps you understand how your body moves, where it compensates, and what it needs to improve.

Sitting within our wider ecosystem of physiotherapy, strength training, and movement education, our sessions go beyond simply doing the exercises. The focus is on understanding why you are doing them and how they support your long-term movement health.

At SF Studios, it is not about reshaping how you look, but improving how your body moves and how it feels to live in it.

Modern lifestyles place constant demand on the body. Reformer Pilates provides a precise, low-impact way to build strength, improve mobility, and restore balance without unnecessary strain.

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a full-body, low-impact form of strength training using a specialised piece of equipment called a reformer.

Originally created to help people re-form their bodies after injury, it uses adjustable springs, straps, and a moving carriage to create resistance that can be finely tuned to your needs and goals.

Because the resistance is adjustable, Reformer Pilates can both support and challenge the body. It allows you to build strength, control, and mobility through precise, controlled movements without the heavy joint loading of traditional gym-based training.

Benefits of Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates is designed to improve how your body functions as a whole, not just how it performs in isolated movements.

Consistent, structured sessions help to:

  • Build deep core strength and stability
  • Improve posture and alignment
  • Increase mobility and range of motion
  • Develop control, coordination, and body awareness
  • Support injury recovery and long-term resilience

It is particularly effective alongside physiotherapy and rehabilitation, including recovery from injury and programmes such as ACL rehab, where controlled strengthening is essential without overloading the body.

Reformer Pilates at SF Studios

At SF Studios, all reformer Pilates sessions are delivered as one-to-one sessions. This allows us to work with a level of precision and specificity that is not possible in a group setting.

Each session is:

  • Individually programmed
  • Progressively structured
  • Continuously adapted to your body on the day

Whether you are rebuilding strength, managing pain, improving performance, or simply wanting to move with more ease and confidence, we meet you where you are and guide you forward.

Our approach is defined by:

  1. Experienced movement specialists
  2. Programmes built around your goals, history, and biomechanics
  3. A whole-body, integrated approach
  4. A strong focus on education, awareness, and progression

If you are working alongside a physiotherapist or strength coach at SF Studios, your reformer sessions are designed to complement and reinforce that work seamlessly.

We offer reformer Pilates exclusively as one-to-one sessions, allowing us to fully tailor each session to your body, your movement, and your goals.

Attention is placed on technique, alignment, and control throughout. You are guided to understand each movement, why you are doing it, and how it applies to your body, ensuring you are working effectively and safely.

This is not just about completing exercises, but building strength in a way that is precise, controlled, and sustainable.

Our aim is for you to truly feel the difference and experience results.
